Airservices has announced that a 'drop-in' community consultation will take place on Saturday 11 November from 11am - 1pm at the Dunalley-Tasman Neighbourhood House. In addition to the short notice given, no proposals are being made available ahead of the meeting, and feedback provided will not be on the public record.
A decision about any change will be announced on 22 November. This places pressure on the community to accept a rushed fix to reduce noise in the short term which may be damaging in the longer-term.
Our position remains unchanged that Airservices should revert to the previous air traffic control arrangements (which CASA found to be safe in February 2017) while an inclusive and genuine consultation process is implemented to find a permanent solution acceptable to all parties.
